Versace is back with another outstanding fragrance for men!!
The latest fragrance to join the Versace family is Versace, Pour Homme Dylan Blue. We had heard that it was ‘a fragrance full of character and individuality…… totally fresh and utterly modern’ so we were really excited at the prospect of trying it!
The bottle is similar in design to other familiar classics from the brand such as the original Pour Homme and Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir. Dylan Blue is extremely easy on the eye with clean cut lines and a stunning deep aquatic blue colour complete with the iconic Versace symbol, the Medusa. The design uses painted glass for a fresh interpretation of the colour blue. The allusion to the Mediterranean and its culture is apparent: modern, fresh, incisive, intense, profound and sensual.
Dylan Blue is a fougère. Highly distinctive with a fragrant woody aroma based on the unique olfactory properties of precious natural ingredients and the latest generation of molecules.
Natural citrus, bergamot and grapefruit combine with modern hints of fig leaf to give a delicious, Mediterranean freshness. Aquatic notes lend depth and round off the citrus tang.
Violet leaves with a dash of black pepper add another interesting dimension. But it is the sophisticated and innovative woody notes of ambrox, papyrus and organic patchouli that form the perfume’s powerful, pulsating heart.
Enveloping tonka bean, precious saffron and hints of pyrogene incense instil a warm sensuality before opening into the musk, with mineral accents, that sets off the incense and seductive character of this fragrance.
The advertising campaign uses celebrity ‘it’ girl of the moment Gigi Hadid who recently featured in the Versace fashion campaign alongside Trevor Signorino. The campaign was shot by Bruce Weber who had the following to say about the experience:
“I’ve been watching lots of movies lately where the actors are mixed martial arts fighters. It seems like they are always proving themselves, so that the women characters will fall in love with them. I thought it would be interesting to do some photographs and make a film that dealt with this kind of relationship. Many women I know really respect the sensitivity and vulnerability of men. I wanted to show that men can have these qualities while remaining very strong and disciplined— like great athletes—and still fall in love with the girl of their dreams. For me, Versace has always represented this kind of driving passion. That’s why I’ve always loved working with them—they give photographers and filmmakers like me the freedom to imagine a big life.”
We also managed to get our hands on the behind the scenes video too. Click below and see how the film was made, watch Bruce Weber direct and catch a glimpse of Donatella Versace and her dog Audrey!
“Dylan Blue is the essence of the Versace man today. It’s a fragrance full of character and individuality, an expression of a man’s strength and also his charisma. I love how it takes traditional notes and scents and makes them totally modern, totally fresh for today and tomorrow”
Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue is exclusively available at Harrods until the 14th August. Priced £66, 100ml.
