Here at Perfume Anorak we are always excited to see who is launching what, particularly in January when the skies are grey, the days are short and we are all desperate for something fresh and new! So we were intrigued to hear that there was something in the pipeline from the house of Versace… a brand new female fragrance no less! Love or hate Versace one thing is certain, anything they do will be big, bold and impossible to ignore and Versace Pour Femme Dylan Blue is no exception.
Can we just say that we couldn’t love the bottle more! The innovative design draws inspiration from an amphora and brings to mind Greek culture and mythology. The intense Mediterranean blue glass and the use of the iconic gold Medusa head further intensifies the Greek theme…summer holidays here we come!!
The fragrance is a floral, fruity, woody blend that we found really easy to wear. Notes of blackcurrant sorbet and Granny Smith apple are the key to the unusual fruity accord while a mix of wild blooms including Forget-me-nots, Shisolia, Eglantine Rose, Petalia, Jasmine & Rosyfolia give the fragrance a real floral hit. A base of styrax, white woods, musk and patchouli ensure that Dylan Blue Femme is beautifully long lasting – we sprayed first thing in the morning and were still enjoying the lingering notes on the drive home at the end of the day.
The ad campaign has a very similar vibe to the male launch but this time our heroine is Croatian model, Faretta. In the words of Donatella, “Dylan Blue Pour Femme is my tribute to femininity. So I created a strong, sensuous yet refined fragrance for a woman who knows her own power.” See what you think…
Versace Pour Femme Dylan Blue is available exclusively at Harrods, priced £74 for 50ml, £99 for 100ml.
