In our latest interview of ‘Talking Fragrance With…’ we caught up with actor, perfumer and brand owner of Jack Perfume, Richard E. Grant. Here’s what he had to say…
(Perfume Anorak): What fragrance are you wearing today?
(Richard E. Grant): I’m wearing Jack Piccadilly ‘69.
And is that your favourite fragrance right now?
I tend to alternate it with Jack Original which was perfect for the summer heat wave!
What was the first fragrance that you bought?
It was Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior.
What direction do you think fragrance is moving in at the moment?
My feeling is that fragrance is becoming increasingly gender neutral.
We know what you like in fragrance but are there any particular fragrance families that you don’t like or that don’t work for you?
I really don’t like anything too sweet, cloying or overpowering.
Who is your favourite perfumer?
Can I say my own nose and the ‘Jack’ brand?
Where do you usually buy fragrance? Do you have a favourite store?
Have you ever bought fragrance without smelling it first?
How many fragrances do you own?
I think I must own about a dozen.
When I smell almond biscuits it reminds me of my daughter’s neck when she was a baby.
